I?m 49, married with a 9 year old son.  We live in an old Victorian ?money pit? right in the city.  I?m a mech. eng. in the biotech pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.   I?m currently finishing up a 4 year, stay-at-home-dad (aka housewife) gig.  I?ve just begun a job search and am looking forward to getting back to engineering work.

I don?t keep up with the Viperpit forums like I used to.  I decided a while back to work with Dave Scott on a Spitfire pit before tackling the F-16.  Here?s our website: http://www.simhardware.org   I am trying to work out the hardware/software design for the cockpit interface.  Dave is doing an awe inspiring job on building a Spitfire MKV cockpit section replica.  We are working with a group here: http://www.bob-ma.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=473 to interface the pit to Rowan?s ?Battle of Britain? (BoB).  The ?BDG? guys are going to code a Falcon4 type mem-mapped-file type for us pit builders.

I?m not as keen as most people on building an accurate replica of the pit as making a real functioning instrument panel and other cockpit controls.  I?m also very keen on making good motion cueing system.  The final area, and to me the holy grail for our hobby, is a 360 deg, full ?field of regard?, high resolution vision system.  I hate flying with a monitor.

Craig,

Very nice family you got there!  Great post!  You and Dave need to finish up the Spit work so we can get you back on the Viper!

Cheers,
Jason

Wow, I didn't realize you had a daughter and grandson

I always pictured you in a white lab coat with thick framed round spectacles and a pocket protector, with jars of brains lining your shelves marked Abby-normal :D

Nice looking family, Craig
