Hello from Ohio
« on: April 22, 2025, 12:14:07 PM »
I happy to be a part of this community. I started out with an "all digital cockpit based on Helios. That however seemed to not satisfy me so Ive started in on the switches, gauges, instruments. I'm currently trying to build my on engine gauge cluster. And am having a hard time understanding the process. I'll keep trying though! Thanks to all contributors in this community! Last pic is my rebuild and having a bit of fun with the HUD haha

Welcome. Helios is nice, but there is nothing like actually flipping the switches. In the sim community we strive to make it as realistic as possible. So the switches are a must. Good luck with your build. You have a great start. The learning process is tedious, long, painful, but rewarding in the end.

Welcome aboard, and a good start you have there indeed! Care to tell us a few details on the HUD thingy? Looks like a thin plexi piece, but not sure.

Well, I fat thumbed something and posted my last before I was done.

That is a laser etching I did with my co2 laser. It's on one of those black round lighted bases and just sat in the hole where the mirror goes.
It's actually my nightlight from my bathroom ha ha

There are guys on the Facebook F16 page that have made working HUD'S. And doing it for around 800$ I think.

Anyway, as ever, I'm happy to be a part of this community.
