DCS Future interfacing for programmers FYI
« on: June 24, 2009, 03:46:07 PM »
DCS the out growth of Lock On shows a lot of potential with a upcomming release of the A-10 and possible F-16 f-15 ect. Their high degree of fidelity in cockpit and weapons systems and potential for viperpit hardware interface have caught my eye. Anyways they are using "Lua" a simple scripting language that can be embeded in the programmong language of your choice. I've just started using it with c# you just have to add a reference to the dll files and go to town. See the link for data you can pull out now and can expect more in the future. Anyways just a heads up.

Faq1:embedded programs must NEVER return from main()
Faq2:99.9% of UART errors are AVRs not being clocked right
Faq3: If PORTC bits don't seem to work JTAG
probably needs disabling.
Faq4:If using avr-gcc avoid -OO optimisation settings at all costs.

This is why I'm working on the A-10 and Blackshark pits,   this software has a great foundation for pit builders!

I would have to say that since I prefer A-G sorties over A-A, the A-10 would be SWEET!!

Not to mention it's just an awesome plane all together!!
