Greetings everyone!
I’m Zherex, I study Computer Science and love to make things. I have access to 3D printers, both FDM and resin, laser cutters and a CNC machine through my local makerspace and would love to utilize all of it to make a realistic cockpit.
Definitely looking to make as accurate as possible of a Norwegian F-16 MLU. Will probably mostly create parts myself due to budget, but if real parts that can be shipped to me become available I will of course consider them. Would love to build my cockpit using an aluminum frame, but it seems there’s not a lot of builds on the forum with metal-based frames and I have been unable to find any design files for it. If anyone has any leads there I would love to hear them :)
I’ve been lurking the forum since acceptance, buidling a list of bookmarks, notes etc from previous builds here on VP. I truly appreciate all the people who post their experiences, their techniques and design files and I hope to be able to share my own experiences in time!

Welcome to VP. Have fun.
Here on VP there are actually a couple of members that have build a metal simpit. From memory:
@simpit
@nightowl
@eagle_wen
@Cupra
Perhaps you can checkt out their build threads for ideas?

Welcome to the nuthouse :-)
Can't wait to see what you come up with for the alu frame!
One thing about metal pits - and I think @henkie will chime in here - you have to be very careful with all the electrics and electronics.
IIRC that's a big plus for wooden pits.
