Hello from Scotland
« on: July 06, 2022, 08:39:29 AM »
Hello all,

I thought I better introduce myself after a couple of years lurking here.  Born and bred Scotsman, who has been flying since a 17 year old in 1989, and been using Falcon and other sims for even longer (remember Op Double Dragon anyone?).

Fortunate to have built a couple of kitplanes over the last few years (RV-7 in 2008 and have 80% finished a RV-10 which is languishing in the garage) and a Kitfox IV which I fly from my local strip to indulge my inner Trent Palmer.

However, over the last two years I’ve spent more and more time back in the sim world following suspension of my aviation medical.

Despite (and I can’t believe I’m writing this) outstanding support from the CAA Medical Branch in trying to work around my medical issue (I’ll not bore you with the details) it’s increasingly clear I’ll never fly solo again.

I’ve been flying a lot of VR but really miss the tactile feel of switches etc so a pit is the natural next step for me. Salivating over Martin’s stuff and amazed at the builds, information and support on this forum - you are incredible artisans and I applaud you.

Looking forward to getting started.

Best wishes

Richard

Welcome!  As you have lurked for some time, you know we like pictures  :D
Take time to read through some build threads. They are inspiring, may bring you new ideas, and prevent you from spending money that in the end turns out to be thrown away, because an other choice would have been better or more appropriate for what you want to build.
An other tip: make notes. They may become useful in the future, or just nice to read through in 10 years from now
