I came back to the BMS 4 simulator after a long break and I have problems with the new versions of BMS 4.35 and 4.36
1) I run Falcon BMS 4.35 Setup
2) After running setup, I add 2 lines to the falcon bms CFG file
3) I run the RTTClient option
4) RTT gives message VCRUNTIME40_1.dll not found
5) I download the Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable (x64) v 14.31.31103.0 library from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170 and I run it
6) RTTClient works
7) I set the configuration in the RTT Client file.
8)Run Launch in the BMS
9) The simulator works, the MFD windows are black.
It looks like RTT is not receiving the data. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Did you follow the steps in the technical manual section 5-35?

Thanks jj bravo for the suggestions. I found the cause of my problems. The two set g_bExportRTTTextures 1 and set g_nRTTExportBatchSize 2 statements were already in the flacon bms file in Misc Settings (not available in the Config.exe). It was enough to change 0 to 1 in g_bExportRTTTextures 1.
I didn't know that and I wrote these two instructions in Config.exe Settings and that was my mistake. Now it works, thank you for your help.

Did anyone have an issue when selecting 'launch' and having the program stop responding? I can't get it to work.

Thanks,

Hey skins,

Not at all.  Are you using another theater perhaps?  Some are not compatible with U3.  but if you are talking stock U3 then no.  Ive had no issues at all.

False alarm! I uninstalled it and then ran everything again and now it works! I must have messed something up the first time around.

Thanks,

I'm having that same problem Skins and did a uninstall/reinstall and it is still happening.  I just got my Cougar installed in one of Martin's throttle quadrants and wanted to do a function check before I started installing it into my pit.  I booted up my computer after some extended down time and had a long Win-10 update cycle to get to Version 20H2.  I checked to make sure my Throttle buttons/pot were still functioning via the HOTAS Cougar Viewer and then tried to start up 4.35 (which had worked several months ago) and got to the intro screen after clicking Launch and then got a pop-up window saying "Falcon BMS has stopped working."  I went ahead and uninstalled 4.35 and then downloaded/installed 4.36 and the same thing happened.  Uninstalled and reinstalled 4.36 again and no joy.  Trying to fish around in the BMS forums but lots to sort through, anyone else seeing this problem?

Rebel when I installed 4.36 the first time I had selected the wrong setup folder location during the install. Once I figured that out the next install worked just fine.

I ended up rolling my Windows 10 version all the way back from 20H2 to 1909, uninstalled 4.36, redownloaded the setup file, unzipped it, reinstalled it and got it to work.  Didn't load any controller config files but atleast got the Throttle assembly checked out and working.  I think I'll go ahead and add in Updates 1, 2, 3 and if that goes well I'll start incrementally doing Windows updates.

Update:  After updating BMS 4.36 with U1, U2, and U3 and making sure everything was still working, I went ahead and updated Windows.  The latest update pushed to a Version 21H2 (OS Build 19044.2130) and after the update, BMS still seemed to function ok, so far so good.

I started researching how to switch off automatic Windows 10 updates and wow, that seems to be a hot-button topic.  I finally found a 40-page thread that eventually pointed folks to this link:  https://linustechtips.com/blogs/entry/1474-eleven-different-ways-to-disable-windows-update-in-windows-10-updated-march-2019/

Has anyone ever had luck stopping automatic updates (not just pausing/delaying them?) with Windows 10?
