Hello all !
First of all, let me introduce myself:
I'm 47 years old, and began my Falcon 4
training in the 101th VFW Qu?bec Air force
last fall.
I have been following Douxx's progress since then,
and greatly admire his (and all of your) great patience,
expertise, and tenacity in that crazy hobby.
My cockpit consists of a 7" x 40" shelf on witch I
tie-wrapped my HOTAS (Saitek X-52), leaving just
the space for the keyboard in bettween,
and my mouse right of the stick.
I sit back in my chair, and place the shelf
on my lap. That way, I have everything I need
on my fingertips.
It might not be a full cockpit, but it beats leaving
the HOTAS on the table.
I have not the time, nor the technical expertise,
nor the patience, nor the space, nor the monetary
means to build a real cockpit, but I greatly admire
those quality in others who take on that challenge. :hail:
Since my first language is French, I ask your
indulgence for any spelling or grammar mistakes
I could make here. And don't hesitate to correct me.
Smooth landing to all !

Welcome Tuvok, no worries on grammar/spelling.
101-douxx:
Bienvenue Tuvok!!!
I hope we are not too hard on your thematics in our squadron!
I'm glad there is more and more guys from the 101th on this site!
BTW: As soon as you'll try my pit on one of our LAN (maybe next year) you'll get the fever too. :firedevil:
And Smoth suppose to be written "Smooth" :lolsign:
Welcom in this craziness!
See you in the sky!

Nah ! They're all gentlemen, very welcoming and willing to help.
Alouette helped me finich configuring Falcon for Multiplayer,
and we did a test flight, then Sheetah, Cooler and Apro did
a practice run the 101-vecteurs mission with me, and I did a
bombing mission with Istari. They all helped me a lot with
procedures and many helpfull advice.

Hey Tuvok
you know you can start small and grow on the way.
if you want to have something a bit nicer, and not too expansive ( :yeah: ),
get jason's plans for the cp and 2 sides - it's very small in size, and you'll have most of the pit functionality,
you can have the ICP, DED, RWR, 2 MFD's and most of the gouges, and still have a portable pit with a very small footprint.
and if you ever do build a full pit, you just plug it in.
