HI to all I'm writing from Italy I'm starting to workon a multi purpose simpit with a structure and look based on the F-16 because is my favorite plane.
I started to collect hardware for the sim when Falcon 4.0 came out years ago but i somehow got lost along the way, last year i played some arcade with airplanes ( HAWX2 and ace combat) i had a lot of fun but they lack of realism, so I decided to restart working on my cockpit and undusted F4 to have some serious flight sim fun, I pulled the HOTASES and the other stuff from my basement, started to update with today technology since the game port is ancient history and bought a used Cougar for the FCC conversion and, amd face te most dreadful part for me... actually planning and building the thing.
IF everything goes as planned the specs are:
Modular slot for side stick Tm Cougar FCC-3 (for F-16/22/35 sims)
Modular slot for center stick custom made with hall sensors and interchangeable grip ( B8 - F15/18, A10) using u joint structure.
Modular throttle slot for cougar TQS and custom made F-15 / A-10 (Basically a "wathogized" suncom SFS)
Cougar MFDs fitted with 8" samsung USB monitors
Center instruments done wit an IPAD (framed and disguised when mounted but I cannot afford to leave it fixed on the console)
Physical HUD done with an hacked B/W 7 " TV (will need help here)
Saitek combat rudders
BIG retroprojected (maybe more than 1) screen or Large fresnel and 3d glasses
Custom ICP
USB LCD module for DED ( i will need help)
Plywood ACES replica, with ejection handles attachment on the side or top (when the center stick is in use) and centre when side stick is in use.
Suggestion and comments are welcome.
Thanks to all guys.
