The ATD pcb's arrived today, so I will be busy the next few days  :)

I have received payments from the following persons:

Kurt;
Dale;
Jacques;
Jason;
Hans,
Ricardo;
Joseph
Nicolas;
David;
Rodney.

As soon as the manual is finished I will ship out the ATD's, assembled and kits.

Oi Arend!

Don?t forget... family first - so please don?t go stressing out, eh  ;)

Gents,

Arend instructed me to write a manual for the assembly of the ATD.
So I'm addressing mainly those willing to spare a few bucks and assemble and solder the kit themselves.

Most of you know me, I solder as I breath (although I hardly understand what I solder)
I soldered countless pots and countless microsticks PCB for the Cougar (and those are tiny as well)

But I'm telling you, my soldering material here can't cope with the precision needed to solder the pushbuttons on that PCB. I'm not even sure the guy manning the soldering iron can cope with the level of precision :)
The risk of putting too much solder and therefore shorting the buttons is very high.
initially I shorted 9 btns out of 16.
I would strongly suggest that the PCBs are left to solder by Arend who has the proper material and experience.
Screwing them is not worth the amount Arend is asking for assembly.
Let him have the trouble and save yourself a couple of evening pulling your hairs out ..... go on, ask me how I know :)

All IMHO

I know Red Dog for quit some years now and if he tells you it's hard to do, take his word for it.

Since I have done quit some soldering in my life I have underestimated the soldering of the switches. It became clear to me after my conversations with Olivier.
My conclusion is it would be best me soldering the switches but that gives me a bad feeling to both sides, people ordering the assembled pcb's have payed for the job and people ordering the kit did so to save themselves some bucks. I don't find it honest to charge them afterwards.

I see three possibilities for the kit-buyers:

- Do it yourself, no warranty issued;
- Let me solder the switches for 15 Euro and do the rest by yourself, no warranty issued;
- Let me assembly and test the complete pcb for 40 Euro, warranty issued.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused, but don't want anybody get disappointed afterwarts.

If you want to change anything let me know before monday. All ATD's will be shipped next week.

Doh! I'm an idiot! Arend, I just checked and I only order the DIY kit of the ATD PCB after all (dang my memory!). I will paypal the additional 40Euro today for the final / tested version.

EDIT: Ok, Paypal won't let me make the charge against my credit card because I am in Europe right now (don't ask me why; has something to do with my "spending patterns" tracked by my bank). So I won't be able to pay until I get back to the states which is after March 5th. Will that work Arend?

Sherlock, no problem.

Thanks Arend. I'll get it to you as soon as I get back. Should be about March 6th or 7th (Arizona time). Also the additional 10Euro for shipping will be included.
