Guys ... i'm leaving for my holidasy ... and when i'll be back
we'll begin to work on the glareshields solution.

The glareshields will be as the REAL ONES !
all the recess, flanges and shape will be as the real one ....
the only thing that is impossible to reproduce is the defogging
system of the main big glareshield

Take Care

Hi Everybody

please accept my apologize for the silence .. but i've been busy with lot of stuffs .... last but not least i also had the first of the three eye's surgery i need to restore my sight ... (difficult and long to explain)
In any case .... in these days the GUYS will begin to prepare the moulds for the Glareshields and in, let's say, a couple of weeks i should be able to SHOW you the final job and the first prototype

As told the parts will be done using the REAL STUFF .... each part will have the right spots and each mounting hole will be in place (i don't think we'll drill them to the right size ... someone may use not original pieces and dimensions of the holes may be different for them.
I'll be glad to receive custom indications.

I'll be back as soon as I can !

Cheers ALL

Davide,

What material you'll be using? I'm missing the left aft and looking for the "steel touch"

Hi Peten

Me and Valcor had a talk about the sell of the glareshields ...
I didn't want to break other businesses nor to rise bad feelings
Earl is very kind and as he has nothing against the production we're quite ready to start
here I'm with some informations and hoping to reply also to your request.

PARTS are made from MOULDS of the REAL STUFF
Fiberglass and special Resin is used to make the parts STRONG enough to bear also heavy weight
Today the guy that produced it took the glareshield with two hands and pulled the two farest parts while putting the middle on his knee ... and nothign happened !
Jocking he said ... "i don't suggest to put this stuff under the tyres of your car..... somethign bad may happen !!"
eh eh eh eh

the MAIN GLARESHIELD is quite different from the one offered by Valcor as it has not the upper flat surface to place a monitor on it .... Mine has the hole for the HUD assy as the Real.

I have some pictures to show ... they were took this evening one with flash, the other two without and they're blurry.... but my camera's batteries left me and i wasn't able to take pictures of the back side.

Tomorrow i will take some pictures in the morning.

I don't know if You can see also the reference for the holes .... they FIT the REAL DEAL but it's not my intention to make holes .... someone may use different diameters ....

Cheers ALL

Hello Strale

Your parts look Great! Just like the real thing! I was relieved to know that I was not the only one providing Glare shields to the Viperpit Community. These parts take a lot of time and hard work to build. I was hoping that shipping cost would be much less expensive for everyone ordering your parts in Europe. Shipping from the US can nearly cost as much as the part itself.

Post more images when you can and keep up the good Work. Thumbs up

Glad your health is better and it is good to see you back!

Thanks

Guys,

Tomorrow i will get the left glareshield hood and i think we can start the production.
I will post some picuture as i did for the right one .... meanwhile the first will be painted in BLACK to SHOW the final result !
If anybody has doubts that the part won't look as the REAL DEAL with the right feeling i can assure that just when painted in the yellow-green primer i wasn't able to tell it was not metal !
during these days i also had the chance to verify the strenght ! while moving aound the cockpit the replica falled down hitting the pit's structure from 1,2 meters .... NO DAMAGES AT ALL !!!

Now i need to know HOW many pitbuilders are interested to place an order and for what knowing that there are 5 Chances
a) Left glareshield Hood
b) Right glareshield Hood
c) A + B
d) BIG GLARESHIELD
e) Whole Unit: C + D

Final prices will be determined upon the number of request: (More request lower price ..... less request Higher price)
For the time being i have the following oders/interest:

STRING:      E  (need confirmation)
GANCIO:      C
NIGEL:         C (need confirmation)
BURNER       (need contact)
ATSALIS_P   (need conctact)

Thanks for Your interest. Looking forward to hear from any potential buyer.

Ok Kukki,
but I won't make holes.... you will see the position on the glareshield but you'll need to drill them out.
this is due to the fact that as i don't have the REAL LEFT mdf frame (i got Martin's replica) i don't have any clue on the diameter of it So you will need to check with the nuts on the frame and the screw's diameter.
But i can assure You that the position of the references for the holes is made on the Real Glareshield so it will fit the real instrument panel.

Cheers

Davide

Strale my friend!
I think I have misunderstood your glareshield post here, I thought you would make those in metal, and not othe material. My mistake  Mad as ...  So if you dont mind ill skip the order on the left. cause ill be looking to get the real one. I have the real right one, and a good metal copy of the left.
But you know im in toooo deep now, and want the real one.

Hope you understand, and sorry for the trouble I have caused.
