O.K. guys here you go.

What I am offering is gauge tubes for Leo's Aircore gauges and Mike's face plates.

This is a pic of the 1" and 1.5" gauge tubes.  I can also make the 2"....even the 1.75" gauge tubes for Jody.  It is 4.5" long.  If you like I can make them just long enough to completely encase the aircore.  Just let me know.

They are made of heavy plastic and include the tube, front bezel, spacer, optional tailpiece, and lens.

If you notice the front bezels have the serrations just like the real tubes.

PM me with any orders.  When you PM me, let me know if you want the standard 4.5" length or just long enough to encase the aircores.  Also, let me know if you want the tailpieces.  They are mainly for use if you are going to use a round connector.  If you are just going to run the wires out of the rear they are not really neccessary.

Just let me know....
Later,
Jarrod

Just a little update on where the gauge tube progress stands now.

I have the lathe on the way and it should be here by Wednesday.  I intend to have the shop ready to go so that when the lathe gets here all I have to do is clean off the red goop, go through all the setups and alignment and then start production.

A little update to the design.  The glasses will drop in from the rear rather than attached to the front.  That will be more like the real gauge.  ALSO, I intend to add a rear piece so that one can totally enclose the gauge and mount a connector on the rear of it if you like.

I can't guarantee how fast this process will be when I start it until I get all my jigs etc... designed and made to help speed up production, I will keep everyone posted though.

I'm really looking forward to doing this and I will do everything I can to make these tubes as real as I can possibly make them.

Later,
Jarrod

Hi Jason,

i had real cans too .... but out the 2" gauges i guess there will be the need of a little work to put the gauges inside the cans !
I mean ... i just checked a couple fo 1" cans i still had (real instruments) i took out the real stuff and tryed to place inside Leo's gauges with Mike's face dials...

The dials smaller than real dials ! ... approx 0,10 inches .... so the gauges are "dancing" inside the can !

I placed some black adesive tape around the 2" gauges and they fit quite good .... I don't think placing tape on the smaller gauges will be the better way ...

So at least for the 1" and 1,5" gauges i will go for Jarrod's solution

Cheers all

mine seem to be an OK fit, there may be .1" clearance. I know when i CAD-ed them I did want a bit of slack, undersized a bit would be ok, oversize and there will be the headache of resizing the dials. My cans also have a small ridge on the inside rim, so the clearance in the dial is covered. Centering should be done with the AC part also.

Mike, you made a G work on the dials, hope You didn't misunderstand my previous post.... I was just telling that the 1" face dials you provided are a little bit too small against the real deals and that i wasnt' able to fit them in real cans ... but that's is a NO PROBLEM at all ! ... in any case i don't have all the Cans for the little instruments ... so i'll look for Jarrod solution that was looking good to me !

Probably I also missed something !! Mike are you going to provide cans too ?
any info about them ... sorry but didn't find anything !
Jarrod, hope you don't mind if I hear also this solution ....

Cheers all
