Here are a few last pictures of how my display unit is assembled.
The whole part can be mounted in one go. 2 Screws M4 for mounting the unit
against the console frame, and 2 screws UNC 6-32 from the OSB bezel
that attaches itself onto this part.

Flying with working MFDs is a blast.

I was asked for MS numbers of the ICP switches. As my next pit
effort is dedicated to the ICP anyway I will give you some information
here and I will continue this post with the progress as I go.

Let's have a look at the 3-way Multifunction switch Gain LVL Auto.
I wanted to have a switch that looks exactly like the one pictured here:

(Picture is taken from www.xflight.de and is property of Martin 'Pegasus')

You may notice the greyish part that sits at the switch bar bottom.
This is very typical for switches made by Cutler-Hammer (C+H) now Eaton.
The Honeywell switches would be rubber red, as this is a sealing to make it sort of waterproof.

On the back side you will see, that the switch comes very close to the thumb wheel,
especially when you decide to go for a two pole version, which has a wider body.
But even with two poles you should just be OK.

Let's get the the numbers out:

ONE POLE:  ON OFF ON    MS90310-211
TWO POLE: ON OFF ON    MS90311-211

Overall this was a major task. Lot's of handfiling work.
I'm pretty choosy when it comes to make
things as close as possible to the real stuff. I wanted to have the
distance of the thumbwheels pretty right and this made me to go for
this construction. This is the RH side ...

And this is for the LH side ...

I've spent countless hours positioning the drilling holes right and working
on this base plate.

The holder plate for the thumbwheels is glued on with super glue.

Positioning some the steel inserts into the wooden HUD block to receive the screws.
They were originally metric M4, but I cut an UNC 6-32 on top of it in order to use the 'right' screws.

The final result makes me happy and looks pretty OK.

Wow!   Your attention to detail and the quality of your artistry are always an inspiration.

Thank's a lot Jan.
I'm a lover of details, I always was.
But unfortuntely nowadays in RL and business they put this to you as a negative attitude in the sense of '...keep movin...'  , don't waste your time on details,
just do as much as necessary, details cost money, bla bla bla ...
Why the hell are some of these f* wearing-a-business-suit-and-tie-cost-for-value-managers are wearing the nicest watches (Hublot, IWC, Audemars-...)
if it is forbidden to love details? The world can sometimes be really crazy.

SICK!!!
Thank's Chris.
