3D Model for hire?
« on: June 13, 2017, 03:48:14 PM »
Hey guys,

I am looking for a 3D model guru that can make a simple switch design for me that I can then use the file to have the model built from Shapeways etc.  I am certainly willing to pay for the time involved.  I'm not one of those hardcore fanatics so something close is good enough for me.  I have an image of the knob but have no idea of the size.  Based off the surrounding switches and panels I am ok with any best guess.  Please contact me if you have the time and interested in helping me out.

Thanks
Jody

@Marvin : I don't know why you want to go through all the hassle with 3D printing, maybe you haven't researched enough?
Look for something in means of teardrop-shaped or chickenhead-shaped pointer switch knob. Usually among guitar amp parts. Raytheon used to make knobs like these.
Of course, if you don't know the dimensions you can't be sure, but i bet there's parts real close to what you want!
Here's a few examples:

I hope you find what you want soon.

As long as they do the job, that's all that matters! No question is pointless, and you did what was right: you asked. Looking forward to your progress mate!

This one, http://www.newark.com/ehc-electronic-hardware/ms91528-2k2b/round-pointer-skirted-knob-6-35mm/dp/98B9803?

Newark is an EHC distributor. They carry tons of EHC knobs. But, transluminated ones are a bit difficult to find.
