Haven't posted pit progress itself so thought I would share.
Made a HUD camera connector a few months ago.
I have an original camera but the only good reference I had was this pic.

I also got a CAD program back in July and about a month of teaching myself how to make things I worked on making the camera since I had that in hand for measurements.

After designing the connector in CAD I printed out the first design that I would use to make a plaster mold.

The mold is for making the rubber portion of the connector.

After making the mold I printed designed the connector to include the 31 pin micro connector and printed it out and glued it to the aluminum stock and milled it out.
With the blueprint glued to the aluminum I knew where to mill and drill the mounting holes.
Therefore when it was complete the connector bolted right up.

The final step was to use engine RTV silicone to make the rubber portion. I applied the RTV to the mold, inserted the milled aluminum connector and pressed the two molds together overnight so that the RTV would cure around the aluminum.

The final step was to mount the 31 pin micro connector and use heat shrink tube to make the protective cover for the wiring.

Making a DIY connector   Now that is top notch work

And now we wait to get the camera connected and wired to the internet.
Then we can see the faces of all Viperpits pilots grimming and "pulling faces" when something goes wrong  :harhar:

What a beauty! Can you post an image with the connectors?

I can post pictures of the rear connector of the MFD if that is what you want but unfortunately they smashed the connector as their demil process apparently.

Well, got the "This topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days"..... that is sad.

Really have not done much with the trainer in the past few years but started again this past month.
Moved the trainer into the garage and started 3d printing some MFD LCD mounts. Still need to tweak them a little but I think the design is pretty basic.

Hopefully the pics work, just trying the attachment format.

Still waiting on Martin "Pegasus" center pedestal to arrive so that I can mount the left and right MFD supports and start putting the center pedestal together along with the switches.

Hope to keep posting updates as this is unacceptable haha.

Dave
