Hello Gents,

I'm still stuck with one screen less than before since I upgraded my computer.
The EHSI was the martyr.

Looking at possible solutions, I'm considering upgrading to a CPD.
The CPD would rassemble two screen output in one for the center console making a total of 5 screens, which is much easier than 6 :)
I have 10.4 screen in my console, it's the same screen as the CPD original project.
I haven't looked at the pros and cons of building one casing from scratch or trying to source one, but before I do that i'm wondering about the software

Who uses the CPD?
What software do you guys use?
Was there a specific software or MFDE does the trick?
What are the schematic for the buttons and the few knobs and switches on the original CPD? is that a matrix, would an X-key cope?
What about Yame? Any CPD user made the move to yame or is yame still short on CPD?

Many thanks for all the help you may provide
Thanks

Have a bandit day

Who uses the CPD?

I do.  Since first released by String

Quote
What software do you guys use?
Lightning's CPD software v0.5.8.1

Quote
Was there a specific software or MFDE does the trick?
See above

The schematics are around, can dig them up if needed.  From old memory; buttons are on a matrix and other knobs are not.
Mine is connected to an X-Keys card.

What about Yame? Any CPD user made the move to yame or is yame still short on CPD?
I haven't tried YAME for CPD, although I do use it for other instruments.
I tried the software from Road, which I think is also used in YAME but reverted to Lightnings's.
It's not perfect.  Often it takes several key presses to change pages.  I mostly leave it on the default, instrument page.

Thanks mate.
I just realised that Badger and Venom might be the same guy :)

I went to Lighning assembla repository and the latest software version for CPD is 0.4.0.0. I'll try that one first and report back
Thanks for the valuable info for the schematics. If it works with Xkeys, all the better for me ;)

CPD is tempting as it would upgrade a bit the cockpit at the same time. Another alternative would be to buy Martin's EHSI ...

Yame has cpd yes. Mfd, data and moving map pages finished. Fuel page very basic for now.
All osbs are clickable if set to show bezel and using touch screen. You can also assign key combinations or DX device buttons to all OSBs.
See manual for detailled info and screenshots.

Hi Red Dog,

I've made my own CPD from scratch. The software I'm using is from Lightning.

Yes, Venom became Badger, many years ago already.

I sent you a link via PM to the CPD software version that I have.

Is it not a much cheaper and easier solution to install a cheap extra graphic card to run the HSI?

I already did that. ANd it somehow doesn't help. The problem is elsewhere...

Anyway
Proof of concept to try the CPD software ported through Wifi over the Ipad.
This is a great solution for a moving map if nothing else on the kneepad :)
