Greetings from Finland!
«

Hello,
I have always been interested in aviation with a special interest in fighters and their complex flight/weapons systems.
I'm currently studying Electrical Engineering with major in microwave engineering, my interest lies in aircraft radar systems so I can combine my studies with my interest in fighter aircraft.
Finland is currently flying Hornets but the F-35 was recently chosen to be our next multirole fighter. That's why I have been flying the Hornet in DCS since it's release.
I have also taken a serious interest in the Viper and pit building this year (hence I'm here at VP).
Currently I'm flying the Viper in DCS but as I learn more about the aircraft, the limitations of DCS becomes realised. When I have more time I will make the transition to BMS to be able to learn/apply more of the Vipers weapon systems. The flight model is also more accurate in BMS.
I have a deskpit with the following peripherals at the moment:
- Warthog stick and base
- Winwing HOTAS Orion 2 with the Viper throttle
- Slaw Device RH Rotor rudder pedals (superb pedals btw)
- Simgears ICP (Ordered, should arrive in january)
When I have more space (and time) I will also start a pit build, that is why I try to buy/make parts and peripherals that can be fitted to a pit (the pedals is one example I will be using for that later on).
Next year I will start to build a DED from scratch (some use of the EE studies
), so that will be a good starting point.
Nice to be part of this community, there is so much information here available which is really handy!
Happy new year to all of you!
Regards,
Ferret

Welcome! Sounds like you are off to a great start! I would recommend you to read everything you can and absorb all of the information. It will help a lot with your build. Good Luck!

A warm welcome here. You'll need it in the big dark freeze up there.
Nice to have a Fin here. I have met your Hornets at exercises over here several times but great you are joining NATO now (whenever the damn Turks stop being babies).
Good luck with your building and flying!

Welcome, Ferret! I've had the opportunity to visit the Finnish Flight Test Center in Hali, and really enjoyed it.
...sounds like you really need to build
two
cockpits...

Thanks! Yeah two pits would be pretty hardcore
But let's first start with the Viper one, it's going to be a pretty long journey anyways!
