‘Goddag’ from Denmark
« on: June 27, 2022, 12:52:28 PM »
Good day from Denmark

I’ve joined this wonderful community to get inspiration to start a somewhat basic pit.

About 4 years ago I had to sell off my gaming setup because we were fortunate enough to get another child and was moving to something smaller.
Now that we got room again I can set aside space for a simpit.
I still don’t have a gaming computer which is gonna be priority “Numero Uno”

My thoughts about the simpit is “simple+”and suited for DCS, IL2, SW: Squadrons and Star Citizen.
Because of the spacesims it’ll be HOSASAT (Dual Stick and a Throttle) capable, but not initially. My big wish would be a ACES II looking seat but with motors moving plates to simulate G’s and modularity is gonna be “The name of the game” so probably something with 80/20 rails.

I love the F-16C/A-10C sticks so it’ll probably be that type and ForceSensing.
Throttle will be suited for twin engines and I really like the F-15 and F-22 throttles

At my parents place I have access to a lathe and mill. So seriously looking into something like the F-16 SSC.

At the moment though I’m using my 2012 Mac Pro to do all the design and 3D work so I have a clear idea of size and form for when I start.

Feel free to ask any questions, and I will try to answer them.

Cheers

Bonus/off-topic:
I was diagnosed late in life, at 31 to be exact, with ASD (more specifically the type that was called Aspergers years ago) so I probably won’t be posting too much because of that.

Welcome and congrats on breaking free from running around the little ones!  :grumbl:

I'm planning to do an 80/20 setup too so would be interested in how you approach this!

Handskemager,

Welcome to the Asylum!  I am also building a "more generic, play anything" simpit, and am nearing completion... oriented at Star Citizen, DCS and MW.  I am getting very close to posting a build - montage post, so more than happy to discuss the issues I ran into and things I learned along the way building a "Notta (Viper)" simpit.

Again, glad to have you here!
