After reading for a while I feel it's time to introduce myself:
My name is André and I live in Solingen, Germany - the hometown of some of the finest known knife factorys.
For many years I've dreamed for my own Simpit when I first saw the Thrustmaster Pit in an old Commercial Video in the 90s. At this time I owned a Thrustmaster FCS and WCS, playing Strike Commander and some other Sims.
Then the idea of an own Pit faded away for many years and came back last year with playing Elite Dangerous.
So I was searching the internet for ideas how a pit could look like. And so I begun to build my first own pit with my wife standing besides me, not knowing wether to laugh or to cry about her husband's new hobby
Not more than a conglomerate of wood, polystyrene with a car seat, a Saitek X55 and pedals it's nothing great but hey - it was my first own pit.
But now I want something more special for the man cave. And so it will be a hybrid of the Akers-Barnes-Mk.I with an ACES II by the plans of SpeedOne and a lot of interpretation by myself. So that's the plan for now... but who knows how this plan will evolve, because the SimPit-Virus is persistent and won't let you go away once infected
