Dcs and Oleds?

Any one knows if there's a way to implement the DED and PFD in DCS with Oleds?

Have you seen this? I don't have DCS (yet) so I can't test

I posted it in the DCS Forums. The issue right now is that SOCAT(connection between DCS BIOS and Arduino) only supports ASCII and by default doesn't have the DED characters. I do not have the knowledge or time unfortunately to make a parser to format the data. The DCS Flighpanels discord is somewhat on it but I wouldn't hold my breath.

My thought would be to look to Martin's new PoE boards - which I believe will work with any sim, including DCS.  Martin is in fact now listing PoE versions of his DED and PFLD components - you may be able to use those to re-host what you already have, OLEDs, cases, etc.  Yes - Martin indicates in his latest catalog that he is also working on a version of DEDCapture that is to be DCS compatible.  So I'd ask Martin.

This is a goodly part of the reason I spent some time wondering about using Ethernet based Pokeys - the interface is more universal...and as Martin is doing things, I'm expecting to now be able to use his gear with any sim in the nearing future!

Hi Red Dog maybe a bit late but does this help:

https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/261806-f16-ded-with-ssd1322-and-dcs-bios/

Thanks but DCSto F4 solved this the easiest way.
Both my DED and PFDs are alive with DCS since Sharknoir came up here with his gem.

The way DCS manages all this is way too complicated for the non programmers.

I would be very interested too. But he seems to be pretty low key now. If I search, the most recent info I can find is a 2007 website....

Maybe there is something on Facebook but as I don't have an account there (and don't want one!) most sites there are unreachable.

Martin usually replies to PM's within a couple of days. He can be busy at times, but will get back to you with an answer.

So just send him a PM here on VP, or contact him through email.

Hello,
Martin just took his first vacation since 2017. He's back on the 22nd, if I remember correctly.
Let him have this well-deserved vacation.

Affirmative.  I touch base with Martin at least twice a year, usually around Christmas time...to buy myself a "present"!  I always ask for his latest catalog update.

Good to hear he's taking a vacation - I need to ping him on another item once he returns.
