Hi Cedric!

Nice "little" project there  ;)

Perhaps you could share info on what type of paint, masking-tape ect. you are using!???

I believe others have got similar things they work on.

Cheers,

Hi All
today i've finished the aerobatic italian team "Frecce Tricolori" helmet.
Isn't the last helmet in use (they use an HGU55 modified with visor cover, that's an HGU2 A/P modified to my own pleasure )
well, some shots here

with an MBU5/P (as used in the early 70's)

That's my own helmet's collection

from left to right : HGU26 (used on VIAF's mannequin); SPH4 (used by me on my real flights); a biker's helmet (used on my own bike: Yamaha Majesty 250 cc); HGU2 A/P 313? Italian Aerobatic Wing "Frecce Tricolori"; HGU55 used by our 5? Italian Fighter Wing, 23? Italian Fighter Group "Veltri"

@ Gun
I've used acrilic colours maked by the original RAL
WHITE : RAL 9010 - FS UNKNOWN
GREEN : RAL 6001 - FS 14110 - RGB HEX 006845 (the next one) -  R 0       G 104    B 69
RED : RAL 3000 - FS 11105 - RGB HEX B51F11 - R 181   G 31   B 17
BLUE : RAL 5013 -   FS 15050    - RGB HEX  070D1B -  R 7     G 13     B 27
YELLOW : RAL 1003 - FS 13538 - RGB HEX F5AB30 - R 245  G 171     B 48

to mask i used some products like:
Frisket Film (www.airbrushop.eu) , ORACAL products (www.oracal.com), and homemade stencils maked with GRAPHTECH craftrobo CC330-20 (cut plotter) and vinyl mask film ORAMASK.

I aerographed the entire helmet by modeller's airgun IWATA's chinese replica with air compressor 15/50 psi.

To finish i sprayed with acrilic gloss transparent and after i cleaned up with antidust cloth imbibed with antisilycon.
I hope it will help you :)

p.s. The biker helmet has the HGU55 visors with visor cover embossed with "Paolo" on the right side and "XVIII Corso - Touch and Go" on the left side. In the middle it's a "FireFox" Patch. On both sides of helmet i've recreated "leather" patches as seen on the HGU55 version.

Dear Sir Cedric,

Would you like to share / sell the cad-files for the entry AB-pit you and the VIAF have built (a wonderfull simply, nice looking yet functional pit)?
I tried contacting VIAF directly, but my italian isn't that good ;)

Kind regards, Mud,
