I loved the ejection image used. Nice touch
The ejection photo seemed appropriate for what I needed to do behind the scenes
When your aircraft is going down and you can't correct it--- EJECT! EJECT! EJECT!
Fortunately, all pilot(s) survived, and the flight data recorder was completely intact
We had to rebuild the aircraft from scratch, then load the flight computer and DTC
A few pre-flight checks, then cleared for service again!
Glad to see it back)
btw: is it weird if I say I like to donate some money to help carry any costs?
Ditto !!!
I missed my daily dose of VP
When I am back home (PayPal blocked by firewall at work), I surely will put in a donation
Thanks for the donation offers, but we do not have the "DONATE" feature linked to the site yet
At this time, there is enough Viperpit money in our account to last through the end of the year
I'll get back with everyone about future donations after the new year
Maintaining Viperpits.org has been a labor of love (I just wish she wouldn't cause these headaches at inopportune times)
Glad to have the site back online!
Is there any word why it went offline and how we can ensure it doesn't happen again in the future?
We know exactly what happened, and have taken steps to prevent this from happening in the futureAs far as I can tell, none of our Viperpit data was corrupted, but the website went completely dark Oct 8th.
The rebuilding process took several days for me to complete...
Unfortunately, the site went down just as I was heading out of town (with limited email and internet)
Mike had the web hosting service re-establish our account and re-propagate our domain while I was gone
Once I got my new credentials, we had to locate the most recent daily backup from their backup servers
With assistance from StableHost's tech support we reloaded the forum and began checking data integrity
I am very happy with the service they provided in helping to get things back up
Everything seems good now - let me know if you experience any glitches
There are still a few updates I will be installing later this week, but everything should keep on working
We have looked into alternative forum software, but I still believe the SMF is our best option
