I made my arming lever system now too,is based on what i've seen from Dunk's one.(it is his lever too by the way)
Maybe is the cheapest and symple method but it works! It will stay firm on both positions according to the strenght you will give to the spring.

Looking around the house i find those screws,rod and spring,i know they are not the right ones,but for now all work and can show you how it is.
