DCS Helios setup tutorial
« on: November 09, 2021, 11:24:34 AM »
Hi All,  After a couple of hours and a bit of learning I found a simple way to set up display extraction For DCS.  The BMS part is also working but that coms later.

How to get this working.

On this.

1.  Download the latest F16 profile from Capt Zeen   https://mega.nz/file/E9NDQayS#xF_juB1ykhClU-CLIPZ_Ws8HHa-ay1nIEY4Wh2eqQ-k
and install it.
2. Remove al items from the profile you dont want.
What I did is the following.  I found the gauges in the list on the right.  And I removed all other what I didn't use.  Simple  Delete it.

select and delete

and finaly end here.

Now I hide some items in the Gauge which I don't need.  You can delete them too.  Or hide..  Both woirk fine.

You can open and close the sections..

Same for other gauges.

Save the Helios File.

Use the save option in Helios Profile editor as many as you need.  and start the Helios control center to see Live your positions.
Adjust it until the Gauges are on the correct positions.

Now we go to DCS.

Good advice to find the correct position of the gauges.
You all use a display extraction tool I guess..   Just start it..  And  Press PRINTSCREEN  on your keyboard.
I use YAME..

Open the app “Paint” in Windows and paste the screendump.
You are now able to identify the position very easy with your mouse. Just remember every Left TOP and Left Bottom position.
Check the Yellow.

Use that data and create a NEW LUA file.  and save it in the correct location
C:\Users\name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\MonitorSetup

And Fly.....

BMS setup will Follow.
