Removing Eaton light switch lenses?
« on: January 23, 2017, 12:10:26 AM »
Hey guys,

Has anyone successfully removed the lense of an Eaton light switch?  They seem a little more complicated than JAY-ELs.  Since I have so many of them I just trashed one to see if it can be done and yes you can.  lol   However you need to remove the actual bulb panel from the outer bezel and that seems to be almost impossible without stretching it to where it cannot be replaced?

Anyone have ideas or been successful?
Jody

Not sure this applies to the Eaton lenses
If not, post a few pictures of the push button.

BTW, Dunk has posted 2 movies on YouTube for another brand indicator/push buttons.

Hi! It's pretty easy, just pull the black part out of the casing, be careful not to do it too hard is it is attached to it. You'll see two marks in the lateral, take a knife and pry a little so you can pull the black casing and you'll have access to the lense and the bulbs.

Best regards

Greyfox,

Thanks that did the trick.  Although I pretty much had to break those tabs to get the light housing out.  But I pretty much have it figured out now.

Thanks
Jody

I broke the first too, but if you do it carefully you won't break anymore.

Best regards
