Hi Wralex
Nice pit, what is the construction of the display lenses on your Indexers and other warning lights please?

I have tried various combinations of coloured Roboesche PVC. A top layer of what they call brown but really looks more of a grey colour gives the correct appearance of barely readable in daylight unless the warning light is lit look. The bit I really struggle with is the blacked out portion surrounding the symbol. I have printed out a set of the warning lights on a Laser Printer but the depth of colour is not enough to prevent light bleeding through. My attempts at alligning multiple prints to get enogh depth of colour for the blacked out portion of the light do not seem to work out very well. Selotaping over the print to protect it from smudging and then sticking the layers together brought some success but there must be a better way?
I also bought a set of Hispapanels Jey-El labels but they were to small and I was not happy with the result.

Hi @P0RSCH3

For the indexer, the guys I'm working with are trying to make the right one too. But the letter are too small to be 3D printed. For the left one they only programmed de V and O in the 3D printer program. The LED light just pass through the V and O shape. For the right side, I will think about it.

For the warning light and eyebrow, I have Mike's replica and they are painted/graved. For the light I will use LED directly. Maybe with lee's filter is required.

Ok ok so more serious update for today... I was pretty lazy with the stupid winter and tons of snow storm/ice...  :grumbl: :brickwall:

So, the project of the weekend is to work on the indexers and the FDR.

My indexer are 3D printed by new Canada friends close to my home who make an 737. So they make me a good price to print my indexer. The "3D printed" finish need to be filled and sanded... no problem!  Saturday, body filler + sanded to 400 grit + primer. Sunday, painted, many thin layers. Miss black paint (it's a special order FS color so that suck) so they will stay as is.

Drying time, so I work on the FDR on the side. It did not please me and I want to color match with my seat so I repaint it. Just need to put the sticker now.

That's it.

I hope to get my stencils this week for the placards on the fuselage.

The pictures are outstandingly crisp and clean/clear ... as if these are painted pictures
Really fine looking pit and as @salaxi54 says you did a great job on the 3D printed indexers. Sometimes you can see that it is printed, but you went the extra mile -- and that is very rewarding. Great result.

I got my stencils Friday so it's an other weekend of painting. It's not 100% perfect, but it's ok.

It need a flat clear top coat but it will be for the next weekend. Need to dry completely first.

I have not painted the "JDAM and GBU-12" sticker. Don't know if will make them. And you? Just tell me.

I also did a small shooting with my gf camera. Hope you like them.
