Hey Tulkas,

Very nice pit coming along here... I like your idea of the dimmers on the lighting panel... Thanks for posting the link to the source... I probaly will also update my dimmer since the function of my current one is very limited (it's broken  ::) - nerver found the time so far to repair it...  :lolsign: )

Keep the pics comin'

Nice work...for me the lights are the main fascination with a physical pit.

Thanks guys!

I have not tested the dimmers yet myself. It will be the last thing I implement in the cockpit because I am not able to decide what kind of power supply to use and anyway you don´t need the flood and backlightning to fly, is pure eyecandy.

So if you test the dimmers I´d be very interested about you report AJ, I have hear many ghost(ing) stories with the backlight so that´s what I am more afraid about. By the way I am also following your build and wondered how much will cost me to hire you to make my wiring  :) I suck at it!

Cheers

Tulkas

Yeah, the dimmer(s)... I placed my order on Tuesday for the 4CH dimmer on the page in your link... We'll see how long it will take to get them to AUT  ::)

Wiring the pit is realy challenging! It took me a long time to get it  to the state I'm right now... and I'm still not fully done yet  ::)

Missing items are the Seat electronics and some panels which still have to be developed...

If you need some help / info during wiring let me know...

I have started the test flights!. Of course I don't have left side of the cockpits yet so the throttle is on one of the ICP thumbwheels, good enough since these flights are just to test systems as I implement them

-Cougar Stick-FCC2 working. FCC2 is amazing. Now I have kind to relearn to fly, is quite different with a press sensor.
-DED and PFD are working together with the ICP (fully mapped now), including thumbwheels and HUD on/off switch.
-Seat arming and ejection handle working.
-Rotaries for altimeter setting and HDG/CRS in the HSI working as well.
-MFDs frames working.

MISC, FUEL QTY e INSTR are ready to be mapped after changing my old Xkey board for the new model.

I have started from scratch a .KEY file and I am discovering many interesting things you can do editing this file, until now I always used BMS UI->WRONG. Especially for a pit builder. Editing the .KEY you have access to many options not possible from the UI (shft, execute at push/release, etc...) even more, don't use the BMS UI because it will fuck up your .KEY, better edit them with Notepad+.

In your BMS installation go to BMS/User/Joystick/Generic/Kolbe and you will find the documents which teach you how to edit the .KEY. There are as well some .KEY files by Kolbe which are just great because all the callbacks are ordered by panels, starting from the back left of the cockpit all the way to the back right. Just brilliant to work wiyh them.

I know most of you know all this, but, hey, I didn't so maybe some other gets a good tip.

Now pictures, right console complete!!. Now is just to wire and buy all the AIC instruments!
