Looking great Tulkas

Damn, I wish I was that far in pit building  :taz:
I like the (hexagonal) Allen screws instead of DZUS for panel mounting in the pit  8)

For a while I thought about making them muself by hand. I am extremely happy I did not and ordered Niko's instead. Once painted they look amazing:

I used 2mm spring pins for the axis, I followed a neat tip (from sagrzmnky if I remember right?) and used a feeler gauge for the spring feeling. I used a M2 screw and nut to keep it in place.

Cheers

Tulkas

someone actually used something that I did in their pits.... :yihaw: :yihaw: :yihaw: :yihaw: :harhar:

Whatever resemblance with the real thing is pure coincidence. But it is a big compliment that you ask for the dimensions  ;)

looks real ! great job

I will messure it for you but be aware that it's my cockpit dimensions, probably nothing to do with the real thing or a trainer.

Cheers

I understand it was to get an idea of what is more or less, now I am building the aces so maybe I can understand better if I have to raise what I have already done so or if they go well so

There is a thread by feathers that gives these dimensions of his trainer if you want those ones

That has actually been my main data source for the pit construction.

Happy New Year!

I decided to finally ditch my temporary minipit to move the cockpit into is final position, so I will only fly sims again when the cockpit is finished. Expect test flights starting in the first part of 2014! I have now install a puzzle rubber floor the kind you use in gyms. I think it is a great addition for the cockpit both in looks and functionality:

Small details are everything. This pit is a family enterprise, I got my mother and sister to make a small bag for safety pins. I just printed a sticker and it looks good:

More belts for the ACESII. I got survival kit straps from a F4, cut them, and screw under the seat pad (no opening seat in my ACESII so no actual survival kit):

Finally the only missing panel on the right console is here, Ky58. My information said that the up-right rotary was a 30 degrees/12 position but it cannot be, probably a 10 pos? Anyway for the time being will stay with the 12 pos, i don´t think I will use much this panel. Useless but nice looking though.

Too late to lit the Christmas lights. I finaly sat with my Jay-el, changed the lenses, removed all the old wiring and lead, clean the contacts and rewire:

In the picture you see the indicators ambar but the actual color is the one you see in the reflection, pure red:
