@Morgan: I don't know if the actual dimension is 380 mm, because i built mine from Brendas' plans. Thus, i have no idea if her plans are representative of the actual dimensions.
Your work is already impressive, and ultra-realistic. If you can handle fiberglass, you could be doing the skinning process that way at least. I have no personal experience with fiberglass other than the throttle handle, but tend to believe you could get great results nevertheless.
I guess you are a 'purist' with the ACES, but what you already built is amazing. If you asked me, i wouldn't change a single piece of it. Bravo, and keep us posted of the progress!  :clap:
